Becky Busing Olmstead’s Special Bond With Horses
My Mother In Love lives in LeRoy, IL she is an equestrian lover who, in her own words, has “cared dearly for horses.” And yet, every day is a routine of maintenance that never intimidates. The sheer power of horses and the tendency to bolt without warning, always has me shaking in my boots when it’s time to take a ride. Fast-forward to today I really miss the peacefulness of this prairie life, Becky has a 25 years plus partnership that has helped her to heal and grow her animals.
In fact over the many years of hearing about her horses and witnessing upfront the upkeep I am now convinced there is ample validity to the unique human-horse relationship.
The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals’ (ASPCA) assertion that horses are under-protected. In fact, the ASPCA’s The Right Horse initiative — a drive to offer better protection by increasing equine adoption in the U.S. — doesn’t just help at-risk horses. It brings a variety of wellness benefits for people, too. By adopting an equine, not only are you saving a life, but you’re entering into a mutually beneficial relationship filled with joy.
