Access Charleston has a goal for the installation of Charleston’s first-ever beach access mats. The mats make it possible for people of all abilities to access our beaches.
We can do this.

I love this! I have a very difficult time walking on sand because my cane sinks in, making me very unsteady. I’m a ways from The Beach but I’m hoping this will catch on closer to me!

Thank you for this. Since I've been in a wheelchair, I haven't been able to enjoy the beach WHICH I LOVE!
I’m very thankful for something like this. I’ve been wanting to go to the beach but I broke both feet in Jan of this year. I’m still recovering and I would not be able to walk on sand with a walker. Plus the sand is so unstable even without a walker I can’t walk on it. So this will be the best to use for someone who has just been temporarily out of walking commotion. Imagine the joy for those that have a permanent disability, I’m so excited for them.
